The role
As our Private Company Chef, you will be responsible for preparing daily lunches and occasional team meals for our Amsterdam-based team. You will play a key role in shaping a healthy, enjoyable, and sustainable food culture within Agriplace.
This is a hands-on role with full ownership of the kitchen; from menu creation to sourcing ingredients and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. You’ll work closely with our office team to ensure meals fit diverse tastes, dietary needs, and our sustainability values. Working hours are 3-4 hours per day, Monday to Thursday (exact schedule to be agreed).
Your responsibilities
Daily meal preparation: Prepare fresh, high-quality lunches for the team
Menu planning: Create varied, seasonal menus with a focus on healthy and sustainable ingredients
Ingredient sourcing: Select suppliers and ingredients aligned with our sustainability and quality standards
Dietary needs: Accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions (vegetarian, vegan)
Kitchen ownership: Manage the kitchen, including cleanliness, stock management, and food safety compliance
Special moments: Support team events, celebrations, and occasional catering needs
Continuous improvement: Bring new ideas to improve the food experience and team satisfaction
Budget planning & control:
Plan menus with awareness of weekly and monthly food budgets
Track ingredient costs and maintain visibility on cost per meal
Navigate and manage the monthly food budget independently
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a professional chef (restaurant, catering, or private/company chef experience is a plus)
Strong passion for fresh, healthy, and sustainable food
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen best practices
Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the kitchen
Creative mindset with an eye for quality and consistency
Comfortable cooking for groups and adapting menus to different preferences
Organized, reliable, and proactive
